Movies - Are You Worried That Hollywood Will Steal Your "Great Film Idea"?

A reader asked me what she should do if someone tries to steal "her idea" for this great Hollywood movie.

This is the e-mail I've sent to her:

"Dear Reader,

Here is my PERSONAL OPINION on this matter:

You cannot copyright an idea. But if you write a 20-page treatment and then register it with Writers Guild of America you can perhaps claim credit for it. The registration is good for 5 years. The best is of course to copyright it with U.S. Copyright Office.

But even better is to write a full screenplay. Then the idea becomes a PRODUCT and you can copyright it to make it your INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY.

An idea is not property. However, I'm not an attorney and you should not take anything in this e-mail as valid legal advice. Please consult a licensed attorney.

But after all is said and done, you can't worry too much in Hollywood about someone stealing "your idea" for a number of reasons.

According to my personal experience:

1) Most people in Hollywood won't steal your idea. They are professionals and they do this for a living. Their reputation is important to them. Also, when an average film costs anywhere from $50 to $100 million, it makes more sense to pay and buy an idea or script (for $1 mil max) rather than get sued and perhaps pay ten times as much. Stealing an idea does not make any economic sense in the larger scheme of things. Most Hollywood producers do not need to steal anything. If they like your idea (should you be so lucky!) they can just buy it, easily.

2) Most people want a lot more than just ideas from you. They want screenplays (plural). Not one but dozens of them. Even one screenplay is treated only as a calling card, as an indication of your talent. One professional screenwriter I know who sold 19 scripts says you need to have A DOZEN GREAT scripts ready at all times in order to sell ONE.

3) Even if someone steals your idea, it is not easy to fight it. That's the ugly truth. The studios have more lawyers and money than you do. If you have the tens of thousands of dollars (and even perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars) to successfully sue a studio you perhaps wouldn't try to sell a script in the first place? Think about it.

4) To get credit for your idea when collaborating with another writer you can sign a Nondisclosure Agreement and have it legally signed and sealed to commit the other writer to secrecy. But what if the other party does not keep his or her promise? See 3 above.

In sum, I'd say, if the idea that someone might steal your idea keeps you awake at night, screenwriting might not be a good vocational choice for you. After all there are people who are giving their movie ideas for FREE on the Internet!

Movies - The Shadow

The "Butcher of Lhasa" is also known as Yinko, played by Alec Baldwin, is a ruthless opium drug dealer who made a practice of taking other's opium fields and killing anyone who crosses his path. One night, Yinko is kidnapped from his estate and taken to a Chinese temple. Once there, he meets a priest who know Yinko's true name, Lamont Crankston. This priest teaches Lamont to overcome the evil in his own heart and to combat crime and to cloud men's minds, thus becoming "The Shadow".

New York City, early 1900s. Lamont Crankston aka "The Shadow" just rescued a professor at NYU from a group of thugs who were about to throw him over the New York City bridge. The Shadow and Professor Tam are both riding a cab and The Shadow recruits Professor Tam as one of his fellow "contacts". Professor Tam is let out of the cab at his home. The cab driver, played by Peter Boyle, is actually another of Lamont/The Shadow's fellow contact and loyal friend. The Shadow tells the cab driver to take him to the Cobalt Club as he transforms back into Lamont Crankston.

Once at the Cobalt Club, Lamont meets his uncle, played by Jonathan Winter, who is also the head of police. As they talk, Margo Lane, played by Penelope Ann Miller, enters the club. Lamont is easily attracted to her and invite her to dinner at a Chinese restaurant. She accepts. As they both enjoy their dinner, Lamont notices that Margo has the gift of reading people's thoughts, for the simple reason that she read his. Lamont takes Margo home.

At a museum, Shiwan Khan, the last descendant of Genghis Khan, is hidden in his ancestor's crypt. He escapes the museum and recruits Mongolon warriors as his followers. He visits Lamont and Shiwan tells him that he also was lectured by the Chinese priest. Shiwan asks Lamont to join him in his worldwide takeover as Yinko, his former self. Lamont refuses.

Shiwan hypnotizes Margo Lane's father, who is a leading scientist, played by Ian McKellen, to build and atomic bomb. Tim Curry, who played father Lane's assistant, also helped in the task of his own free will. Knowing that Lamont is the shadow, Shiwan hypnotizes Margo into killing him. Margo arrives at Lamont's home and with a failed murder attempt, Lamont breaks the spell over Margo. She realizes that Lamont is The Shadow as well, but she promises to keep his secret between the two of them. Margo asks for Lamont's help because her father has disappeared. Together they find the whereabouts of Margo's father and Shiwan Khan at a Hotel Monolith. This hotel was hidden in plain site because Shiwan cast a spell over the whole city NOT to see it. The Shadow strikes at the Hotel Monolith, defeating Shiwan's warriors until only Shiwan remained. Meanwhile, Margo and her father are trying to stop the time sequence on the atomic bomb; they succeed. The Shadow and Shiwan have a battle of the mind in a room full of mirrors. The Shadow had a piece of the mirror strike Shiwan's brain, therefore defeating him. Shiwan ends up in an insane asylum, where one of the doctors is a friend of The Shadow. The doctor tells Shiwan that a part of his brain had to be removed, the part that is used for telepathy. Shiwan is left in a room at the asylum outraged. Lamont and Margo kiss each other and then parted ways.

A List of Great Scary Movies to Watch From Recent Years

Horror movies have become a bustling business in Hollywood. With relatively low cost of production and a generally solid return at the box office, horror films are churned out every year in a big way. One thing is certain. People like to be scared at the movies. Over the past few years, there have been some pretty awful horror films. But amongst the bad, there have been some great ones. I'll give some basic plotlines but will not be giving spoilers.

Vampires have been in the media in a big way for the past few years. Unfortunately most movies they have been in are more about love and less about horror. Even though it was not a perfect film, I thoroughly enjoyed 30 days of night for this exact reason.

Forget about the fact that it is a scary movie, The Ring is just an awesome film. The plot is captivating and a great movie to watch for anyone who wishes they liked horror films but have a hard time getting through it. It is scary but incredibly entertaining, and Naomi Watts gives a great performance.

Another incredibly frightening film, which has somewhat of a realistic feel to it is 28 Days Later. Starring the great Irish actor Cillian Murphy in his breakout role, this film takes place in the United Kingdom following a devastating disease where most of the country has become very..."sick." This is more than just a zombie movie; it is an incredibly suspenseful film that has a somewhat post-apocalyptic feel to it.

My favorite horror film in recent memory however goes to The Descent. It is a story about 5 girls who go exploring in an unmarked cave and well, as you can imagine, everything pretty much goes wrong. I won't say anymore, but The Descent is definitely a horror film worth seeing.

While remakes generally are not good, I very much enjoyed The Hills Have Eyes remake. It was scary, over the top, horrific, and even funny at times. I will not go into details, but there is one scene in this movie that has stayed with me, and is certainly not for the squeamish.

Finally, Sunshine, by Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle is another fantastic film. While it may not be a true horror film per se, its plot is scary and realistic and at the very least, it can be called suspenseful.

ELVIS PRESLEY - Movies & Songs

I just finished watching a movie called "Elvis" made in 1979 starring Kurt Russell. And it just hit me that after all these years, this is probably still the BEST offering so far about Elvis's life. Imagine, no big Hollywood Studio has done anything that beats it.

I've been following the career of this Kid from Tupelo since I was 10 years old. Some people might ask,"why would anyone still be so fanatic or loyal to a celebrity after all these years?" Well,I don't think anyone really knows "why" it just seemed to happen one day at a time.

For me, I don't think a day goes by that I don't think of Elvis. I remember as a kid, growing sideburns and being kidded by the older kids. In 1964 in high school many of the kids said Elvis was over and the Beatles were "In". But there still were those like me that thought otherwise.

Than in 1970 my wife and I with two friends saw him in person at the Miami Beach Convention Center. I remember the feeling of anticipation sitting in my seat waiting for the show to begin. And that day in August of 1977 when I got a phone call from home asking me if I heard the news.

In 1995 my son graduated from a Naval Training School located just outside of Memphis, so we just had to visit Graceland. It was a little surreal walking through the house knowing Elvis had once lived there. When we came to the grave site, it was impossible to stop the tears from flowing.

Here's a brief rundown of some of the Movies and Songs associated with the KING... Elvis Movies number 33, first in 1956 with "Love Me Tender" and last with "Change of Habit" in 1969. Plus two Documentaries,"Elvis,That's The Way It Is" in 1970 and "Elvis On Tour" in 1972.

Elvis Songs number about 800 of recorded and/or performed songs beginning with "That's All Right" in 1954. His last studio album was "Moody Blue" recorded between February1976 and April 1977.

It is estimated that Elvis has sold enough records to circle the Earth three times over. Although it is still a question of verification,it is believed "Elvis Worldwide Record Sales" have reached "One Billion Records".

No one knows why people feel so strongly about Elvis, we just know we do and always will.

Elvis once said when giving a speech...

"When I was a child, I was a dreamer"...
"I read comic books and I was the hero of the comic book"...
"I saw movies and I was the hero in the movie"...
"Every dream that I ever dreamed, has come true a hundred times".

At the end he concluded with:

"I learned very early in life that the day would never end without a song, so I keep singing a song".

19,710 Days a Elvis Fan... No End In Sight.

Hey guys, hope you enjoyed my article...
...One of the things that was so amazing about Elvis was how he put such feeling into the words of his songs, especially the ballads. The following song is one of my favorites. I know you'll understand why after hearing it. To see a video of this Elvis song, please visit my money machine blog.

Watching Movies for More Than Entertainment

There are a number of people who feel that there is nothing more entertaining as compared to watching their favorite movies as these are considered as very much visually stimulating. Always bear in mind that there are many movies that always have their own personal charm, and even if you are just not able to learn everything from any movie, still you find them very much entertaining and effective. Our mind is very much obsessed by the auditory and visual stimulation as compared to any other system of learning, including reading books. The fact is that when you are watching movies you certainly need less concentration and focus as compared to reading books, and this where most people are interested in.

Watching movies, certainly can offer a lot to ordinary man in terms of developing their intellectual skills. When watching movies you just have to put in all your efforts to imagine actions and scenes and the best part is that movies also provide you with an opportunity where you just never have to try and make much use of imagination to recreate words. Movies also help in rapidly transmitting all set of messages instantly to our brain. This is also considered as one of the best and most effective ways for synapsing information to our brain, increasing our overall intelligence and creativity. Movies are also best means to educate people in masses in the field of science, arts, technology and psychology.

As movies are always here with us on one platform or another, so you can also think of them as best means to pass on your wisdom and knowledge from one generation to another. There are a number of movie makers who always work for improving vision of mankind by simply trying to recreate stories and scenes from one era to another. Movies, in simple terms are also regarded as one of the best means to educate the present generation about their past, present and future.

Top Ten Bar Movies

Considering that a lot of us spend a large amount of time in bars, it is amazing how few movies feature bars as a central element of the story. There are classic bar scenes (Star Wars Cantina for example or the saloon in High Noon) but few movies feature a bar as a character unto itself. Bars are usually plot devices thrown in as shorthand. Depressed or lonely? Then the seedy run-down bar on the bad side of town reflects the character's inner angst. Happy? The trendy martini bar with its neon and bright colors is front and center. Mysterious, jaded or edgy? Then the characters are sitting up at the hotel bar drinking scotch.

For all the evidence out there and spots for solid research, few movies actually capture the atmosphere of a real bar. Bartenders rarely respond to "hey barkeep," and "gimme whiskey" is usually met with a blank stare. Capturing the essence, smells, sounds and feel of a real drinking hole is apparently hard. Here are ten movies set in a bar. Not necessarily realistic representations, but interesting nonetheless.

10. Coyote Ugly. (2000) A ridiculous bar movie that follows a young girl trying to make it big in New York as a songwriter but ends up working at an all girl bar named Coyote Ugly. This film featured lots of dancing on bars and scantily clad women tossing bottles around. The bar was modeled after an infamous Greenwich Village watering hole and spawned a whole raft of copy-cat bars across America.

9. Road House. (1989) Either the finest bouncer genre movie of all time or one of the worst pieces of drivel ever committed to film. But you can't resist anything with Patrick Swayze, who hung up the dancing shoes to play a tai chi practicing bouncer. Swayze plays our pec-flexing hero who is given the impossible task or cooling down the violence at the Double Deuce, a rowdy honky tonk bar. He must also learn the secret ways of the bouncer guru and then confront the most evil man in Jasper, Wyoming -- Ben Gazarra.

8. Cocktail. (1988) The trend of "flair bartending" reached its nadir or apex depending on your point of view with this fromage from 1988. A youngish Tom Cruise is the hot shot young bartender who is shown the ropes by the older wiser Brian Brown. They become partners then fall out over a woman and become rivals. Rivals at throwing bottles in the air and shaking girl drinks. Imagine John Wayne ordering a drink from these guys.

7. Robin and the Seven Hoods. (1964) Ocean's Eleven is the most famous rat pack movie and probably the worst. Much better is this stylish retelling of the Robin Hood legend. This movie mostly took place in prohibition era Chicago speakeasies, where the hard drinking, crooning and partying band of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and Bing Crosby take on the evil sheriff and Guy Gisborne (Peter Falk). The band sign, swap zingers and spend most of their time downing anything they can brew up.

6. Swingers. (1996) Technically this movie does not take place in one bar, but its grand tour of Los Angeles and Las Vegas drinking holes is money baby. This movie launched the career of Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn and made swing bars and tiki-lamped cocktail lounges hip again.

5. 54. (1998) Studio 54 was the most famous nightclub in late 1970s New York. It was the quintessential disco and was the party place of the famous and wannabe famous. Mike Myers steals the show as the gay club owner Steve Rubell, while Ryan Phillipe, Salma Hayek and Neve Campbell play the beautiful people who made the nightclub home. Perfectly captures the disco era and the exuberance of the 70s nightclub.

5. BarFly. (1987) On one level depressing, on another a great expression of the joy of life. Mickey Rourke plays Henry Chinaski, a poet and alcoholic (loosely based on the real poet Charles Bukowski). He spends his life in LA bars drinking every night. One day he meets and falls for Wanda (played by Faye Dunaway). She's an alcoholic too but she sees the true Charles. She helps him get his poems published and for a short time he becomes famous. But in the end they are both happier as anonymous barflies.

3. Trees Lounge. (1996) Indie star Steve Buscemi directed this small picture imagining what would have happened to him had he stayed in his small hometown on Long Island and not moved to Manhattan to pursue acting. His film centres around, and perfectly captures, a neighborhood bar full of colorful eccentrics who can't seem to move on. Also starring Anthony LePaglia, Samuel L. Jackson and Chloe Sevingny, Buscemi plays Tommy Basilio a drunk who wanders through his life desperate for some sort of meaning beyond the bar that is his only home.

2. Lost in Translation. (2003) Sofia Coppola's gem of a movie mostly takes place in a hotel bar in Tokyo. Disillusioned, weary and bored actor Bill Murray meets neglected newlywed Scarlett Johansson and the two create an unlikely bond as they try to discover or rediscover themselves while in a foreign and confusing land. They end up at a Japanese nightclub which is a great counterpoint to the austere bar. While they don't form a traditional romantic attachment they find something that awakens each other.

1. Casablanca. (1942) Perhaps the perfect movie. Bogart and Bergman shine is this classic romance drama. Originally named "Everybody Comes to Rick's," Casablanca regularly tops best of lists. It's World War II and Rick Blaine, exiled American and former freedom fighter, runs the most popular bar in Casablanca. It's filled with thieves, spies, Nazis, partisans, refugees and piano players. The Nazis and their puppet Captain Renault are after underground leader Victor Laszlo who is supposed to be somewhere in Casablanca. Lazslo secretly arrives at Ricks, only not alone. With him is Ilsa, Rick's one time love and the breaker of his heart. "Of all the bars in all the world she walks into mine." The rest is cinematic magic.

20 Most Underrated Movies of the Past 15 Years

It seems that each year, we are bombarded with television Ad after television Ad telling us what we should and shouldn't do and what we should and shouldn't buy. The media has control over most of our thoughts and has the power to persuade us one way or another. Because of this, it is likely that each year, there are those movies that are overlooked by much of society. For your benefit, I have made a list of the 20 most underrated, under-noticed, an under-appreciated movies of the past 15 years.

1) Unbreakable: In my opinion, M. Night Shamyalan's best work. Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson clash to perfection in this film about two men, one with self-sustaining powers and the other, on the option side of the spectrum, susceptible to everything that is bad in this world.

2) 12 Monkeys: I promise I am not starting a trend of Bruce Willis movies. However, this film, intriguing from start to finish, gives its audience a peek into the future of our planet. Bruce Willis goes back and forth between present and past, trying to save the day, as usual.

3) Frailty: Probably Matthew McConaughey's best film. About a very religious father who has visions and murders people who God has supposedly told him are demons from hell. Bill Paxton joins the cast in a movie with a tremendous twist.

4) Almost famous: Thought Kate Hudson received acclaim with an Oscar for best supporting actress, this film is relatively unappreciated in the realm of movies. A superb cast including, Frances Mcdormand, Patrick Fugit, Billy Crudup, and Jason Lee takes us through the coming of age of an aspiring music journalist who travels around the country with an up and coming band. Full of sentimental moments, great music, and a look into the 70s world of rock, you are guaranteed to be enjoying this movie from start to finish.

5) Friday Night Lights: An intense look into the arena of Texas High School football, this true story makes any high school athlete remember the great moments and amazing relationships they had on their teams. Good performances all around combined with realistic live football action makes for another great film. My favorite sports movie of all time.

6) The Sandlot: A kid's movie at heart, this movie has been watched by children for over a decade. However, it is also a film for adults, discussing Babe Ruth, parenting, and, of course, our pastime, baseball. Adults with enjoy every moment of this movie as it will bring them back to a time when their lives were precious and innocent and when the most important thing in the world was when they had to leave the baseball field.

7) Hook: An amazing cast, including Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams, and Julia Roberts makes this one of the most entertaining movies around. The story of Peter Pan is moved to the future after Peter had left neverland. Hook never forgot Peter and his lost hand. He wishes to fight once again and lures Peter back to neverland by kidnapping his two children. A new age look at Peter Pan, with real people, makes this film another must see.

8) Fifth Element: Yes, Bruce Willis in on the list again. Although this movie is a little hokey, it is exciting throughout. An fun movie about aliens and the end of the world will keep you on the edge of your seat. The action and quirky moments are what make this movie thrive.

9) Vanilla Sky: Tom Cruise hits the list with this movie that got little acclaim from critics. Once you start this movie, you will be glued to the screen. A great plot, and super twists throughout are what make this movie good. And Tom Cruise doesn't get to wow audiences with his good looks the whole movie and his face is mutilated early in the movie.

10) Boiler Room: A young cast of men portray a wall street stock broker company that cheats its clients into paying absurd amounts of money for stocks that don't exist. One man's world is destroyed by this and another's is turned upside-down as he learns that he is not working at a real company.

11) Resident Evil

12) Hoop Dreams

13) Butterfly Effect

14) American Psycho

15) Eyes Wide Shut

16) Election

17) School of Rock

18) Donnie Darko

19) Truman Show

20) Con Air

Best Comedy Movies 2008!

Let's start by explaining the art of comedy and what what kind of comedy we refer to in this article. We all know the commercial type of comedy, amusing to almost everyone, often exercised with slipping behind sofas, overexplicit jokes and punch-lines based on a script that has been reviewed, edited and reviewed again. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and with comedians like Jim Carrey and Jerry Seinfeld (after Seinfeld series) backing it up, what else can you do but laugh.

However what we are talking about when referring to Best Comedy Movies 2008, that we've had the delight of seeing a lot of in 2008, is the slightly more sophisticated comedy. Still goofy, by all means, but not limited to practical jokes or simplified by a too tight script. The comedy in it self is perhaps not always something that makes you laugh out loud or re-capping it to your friends, but rather makes you smile and remember the characters and story in it self. Less is about one funny actor, or theme and more is about the genius and flawfulness of the movie.

3 comedy movies of 2008 that fit perfectly to this category are:

- Son of Rambow - a comedy adventure to be fare and a story of two very different boys in old England who come together in filming Rambo First Blood. Brilliant story, great characters and actors and a lot of laughs. A must-see!

- Be Kind Rewind - Jack Black and Mos Def in a brotherly and slightly awkward duo, trying to film their own versions of hit movies like Ghost Busters, Driving Miss Daisy and Lion King, after accidentally destroying all video tapes in their video store. Genius effects and meaningless plot, nonetheless a blast to watch.

- Semi Pro - Will Ferrell at his best. As the owner and coach of a basketball team, Will's character JAckie Moon is a self-centered grown up baby who still lives on a one hit wonder called Love Me Sexy. It's original and although it's redundant at times, the story shows of uniqueness and superb dialogues.

1960's Christmas Movies: 4 Classic Cartoons

With upbeat music, colorful images and memorable characters, the 1960's Christmas movies are very fun to watch!

Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, premiered in 1964 as an animated TV special. Rudolph becomes an outcast when everyone discovers his unusual red nose. He runs away with fellow misfit Hermey the elf who wants to be a dentist. Rudolph finally wins the heart of his girlfriend, family and Santa himself when he saves Christmas from a blinding snowstorm with his bright shiny nose. Burl Ives narrates and sings some of the songs.

The following year A Charlie Brown Christmas brought the characters of the favorite Sunday comic strip to life on the small screen. Charlie Brown finds the commercialism of Christmas disheartening as even his dog competes for the flashiest doghouse. Linus teaches his friends a lesson about the origins of Christmas as he quotes the manger story from the Bible. Original music by Vince Guaraldi complements classic Christmas carols.

Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas was next in 1966. In the tradition of the classic Dickens Scrooge character, the Grinch is mean, nasty and most of all hates Christmas. He has a dastardly plan to steal the holiday from a village of "Who's" in the valley near his cave-like home. The combination of Dr. Seuss's text, animation by the legendary Chuck Jones, original songs, and Boris Karloff's narration made this an instant classic.

Finally the decade came to a close with Frosty the Snowman in 1969. The story focused more on winter rather than the holiday itself and appealed to a younger audience. While not generally as highly regarded by today's audiences, this cartoon was unique for its time.

These classic 1960's Christmas movies continue to inspire and entertain us today. Watch one of these special films with family and friends and feel the spirit of the season come to life!

Best Beach Movies

Now that summer time is just around the corner, many people are starting to dream about the sand and surf. Exotic beach destinations have always been a favorite go to place for the summer holidays. It's not a surprise, given the warm deep blue oceans, the brilliant white sand and the scrumptious eats that most beach locales have to offer. While many beaches are affordable, think Thailand, think the beautiful shores of South Africa, today's economic hardships make far off vacations hard to come by.

So instead of heading of to fairer climes, many Americans are staying in. Instead of going to the beach, the beach will come to them. Here's a list of some of the greatest beach movies of all time. You can flick on your satellite TV, make some cocktails and stick a few umbrellas in them for effect. It's not exactly the same as being at the beach in person, but these movies will still make you grin.

Back to the Beach: This 1987 movie stars Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. They came back together to do this fun little beach movie spoof, which light heartedly mocks the famous beach flicks of the 1960's. Funicello and Avalon head back to the beach, all grown up this time, with their own children. This film sports some great parody scenes, that you won't get unless you've seen the original beach movies; don't worry, though you have an entire summer to catch up.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High: This movie marked director and writer Cameron Crowe's, of Almost Famous and Elizabethtown fame, film debut. It was actually a great start to a brilliant career. This 1982 movie starred Sean Penn as Jeff Spicoli, Phoebe Cates as Linda Barrett, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Stacy Hamilton, Judge Reinhold as Brad, and a host of other stars including Nicolas Cage, Forest Whitaker and Eric Stolz. The movie details the lives of young high school students in California. This is a true classic and can still be found on the airwaves courtesy of satellite TV.

Girls Girls Girls: Two words: Elvis Presley. Indeed, this flick starred the King himself alongside a host of pretty girls, boats and lots of beach. Made in 1962, this musical comedy, has Presley playing a penniless fisherman who dreams of someday owning his very own boat. Although HD technology didn't exist back in the day, this movie had more to it, then amazing special effects or great cinematography. It had Elvis.

Beach Party: Here's another classic that you're bound to find on one of your satellite TV classic movie channels. It stars, yup, you guessed it, the one and only Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. This was the first of seven Beach Party films from American Internation Pictures. All the Beach Party movies in the series starred a bunch of young kids having fun sans parents or teachers, on the beach. In the movie, Professor Robert Sutwell is secretly studying these wild Southern Californian teenagers, when one of those teenagers falls in love with him.

After your successful installation of the software, you can already navigate to the list of titles of movies in the website. Some sites offer some free stuff. You should also find out if there are. This is the second step.

The next step is the actual download. This will mostly depend on how fast your Pc can work. The Download Manager is now tasked to do most of the job. Check on the appropriate information and wait until your movie is completely downloaded. The last step is of course, your full enjoyment of the movie. If your download is successful, you now have one of your favorite Korean movies ready before your eyes. You may also proceed to download Korean movies that you like.

CGI Cyber Movies

The movie 300 heralded the beginning of a new era in film making. So hot on the heels of 300, Beowolf suggests that the digital film revolution is beginning to gather pace. How long can actors, agents and cameramen continue to claim that they are an integral part of the film making process?

Since the early 1990's it has been clear that film making was heading into the direction of a cellulose-less medium. Few would have imagined then, that film-making would ultimately become digital, largely film-less, tape-less and now, location-less! This has largely been down to the economic necessity of the low budget film-maker who cannot compete financially with the studios on the procurement of brand label promotional actors habitually resident of the A-list. Instead, they use the skills learned on their home computer, whilst growing up, to create an imaginary digital world in cyberspace that magically looks exactly like the real world, except for the fact that its free and created on their personal computer. Brand names only look good if they are in the best and most glossy movies, but then again, so do little-known, unknown and un-named actors too! So what's the solution to this problem of fame?

Studio based movies are very quickly proving not only the economic reality of the film industry but working hand in hand with the new digital artists who create moving images in computers and integrate them so well with live-action, that it is almost impossible to tell them apart. Many of these movies look so good and their storylines produced and presented so well, that Hollywood and other centers of excellence must be shuddering at the thought of an avalanche of high quality low-budget movies without star names attached which will steal their thunder and ultimately steal their revenues from right under their noses.

Digital Film Schools and other film courses such as The Lyceum of Theatrical Film in London (www.thelyceum.co.uk) no longer only teach the fundamentals of cinematography, clapper-loading etc, but primarily the story concept and the way to express it, its perception and presentation all storyboarded in digital imaging terms. Blue or green screen is a fundamental of the 21st century digital film process as is the use of Lightwave 3D 9, 3D animation package used on '300', 'Sin City' and 'Pan's Labyrinth', Endorphin, Dynamic Motion Synthesis software, used to create 'virtual stunt doubles', Vue Infinite 3D terrain generator, used on 'Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' and others.

Hot Navel Show in South Indian Movies

If you are fond of navels and want to see some of the hottest women with sexy bellybuttons, you should watch South Indian movies. These movies, typically masala movies, have a gripping storyline, mind boggling fight sequences and beautiful actresses.

Some of the movies are heroine oriented and have actresses playing meaningful roles. Like Telugu movie Arundhati in which actress Anushka played a very powerful role and shot to fame overnight. But a majority of movies have glamor as the indispensable part of story. And surprisingly the actresses are so beautifully portrayed that you will be mesmerized by their beauty. There are no nude scenes but still seductive movements, rain songs and sexy costumes are there.

One of the thing that has become almost like a fashion trend in these movie is that of navel show. Hot navel show by a sexy actress can leave male fans dry mouthed. The actresses tie the Saree below their navel to attract attention. Even in tight jeans, the sexy belly button of the actresses is shown very nicely. And these movies are crowd puller.

South Indian actresses are mostly voluptuous in their body structure and so is their belly. There are many actresses like Namitha, Trisha, Nayantara who have large fan following. Their name is enough to pull crowds to the theaters. And then there are actresses of old years typically known as aunties due to their age factor. And do not be fooled by their age. These actresses are so sexy that they can sometimes give the new actresses a run for their money. Rambha, Simran, Ramya, Babilona, Shakeela can be put in to this category. And as for fans these are called evergreen beauties who have an equally large fan base. It is truly a pleasure to watch these beauties. And the credit of making navel show a trend goes to these cine beauties only. Now it is common for women to wear navel revealing costumes in parties and daily life.

Are The New Remakes Of The Old Classic Movies Really Worth Seeing?

There have been many classic movies remade years later, some are good and some are not. It depends on the how the story is interpreted. In the early movies sex and violence are hardly ever shown they are implied. In the newer versions they don't hold back anything. This might be what is appealing to the new audiences. They have seen the classic and want to see the actual murder or love scene between two characters.

In the newer versions of movies they have been able to take special effects to a whole new level. Sometimes this isn't always good. In the 1960's series of Batman, the cheesiness of the show was the best part. Batman always had whatever they needed to escape or apprehend the bad guy. For example, he would say "good thing I put this vial of shark repellent in my bat belt this morning". Never has anyone been better prepared for anything since the old Batman shows. In the remakes they took him to a whole new level making everything very slick and futuristic. They took out the innocence, the heart and soul of why we loved it so much as children.

Another example of a remake gone badly is Godzilla. The reason everyone loved the old Godzilla movies is because you could tell it was a man in a monster suit crushing a cardboard Tokyo. Half the fun of watching these movies was to see how fake many things were and try to find the wires swinging the monsters around. In the recent version, they made Godzilla the bad guy. This turned the character into something else. Even in a remake the basic personality of a character shouldn't be changed. In the old movies he was the protector even if he destroyed everything he was trying to protect.

But there are great remakes of mediocre classic movies. For example, the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder, this movie was based on a book and for anyone who loved the book the original classic movie was a disappointment. But in the updated version, starring Johnny Depp, they stayed very close to what the author of the story was trying to convey. Making the new release an instant classic.

Then there is the comic remake of the classics. Often a writer will take the best parts of a particular genre and combine them into a comic spoof, these movies have formed a genre all their own. Mel Brooks is a master with this type of remake. For example, Blazing Saddles pokes fun of the old westerns and makes a statement about racism. Another classic remake was Young Frankenstein, based on the old Frankenstein movies.

Why Chinese Movies Are So Different From Western Films in the Way of Expressions

When we consider about the reasons of such big differences between Chinese movies and western films in the way of expressions, different social backgrounds should be the general and decisive reason.

To put it in details: the art of Chinese movie is affected in many aspects by culture and traditions, including emotional expression, narrative methods, style performance, education, education awareness, the reality of the tragedy of comedy optional check, awareness of life ethics bias of reality and the subconscious subjective concerns alienation and so on.

The most significant here is the emotional expressional forms. Oriental movies of emotional expression are most truly revealed the differences between movies of china and the West, which also derived a unique feature in behavior, performance, and cinema-style. The Chinese art forms to express emotions of film culture highlight the expression character: that is, advocating for the degree of moderation, restraint implicit emotional lyric approach.

Limier is the founder of the documental film; his films were the first ones as some magic films or current-affairs films. These films were as tens of meters long but only played just a few minutes; moreover, there is no change of the lens, which can be called a single-lens video.

But just in such childish movies, there had been changes of screens and special-effect photography. The 1950's after war is a new age of movie. Three-dimensional movies, panoramic movies, wide screen movies broke the frame of the screen, broaden people's horizons. High-speed photographic film and tape recording availed people to shoot outside; color and stereo made brilliant films. All of these made movie to be more diversified and real. But different countries are with a different development of science, which brought different development to movie business.

As time goes by, the development of the form of expression was significant. Various forms of expressions appeared during this processes of developing. Such as: Description (scene descriptions, detail descriptions, simple description), a symbol of grotesque, realist, video tone, screen effects, screen design, rhythm (internal rhythm, external rhythm), Curate, Chauvin effect, the lens (subjective lens, objective lens, and air lens), space-time conversion skills, fade and slowly appear, cut (jump cut), and overprint, zoned, flash back, and so on. Usually, many of them are used as a unity in one film as a way of different aims of the editors. Despite the favors of individual film makers, there are also big differences in use of these film shooting methods.

Download Full Length DVD Movies - Take Advantage Of Undisputed Benefits

Many movie studios have come to a conclusion that selling movies only on DVDs is not always viable for them, so they started allowing Internet users to download full length DVD movies at a lower fee. Since this eliminates the need of inventory and storage space, as well as gives an opportunity to reach out for a wider audience, the method has proven to be beneficial for the movie distributors - and for movie buffs, of course!

So, now you don't need to buy an expensive DVD every time you want to watch a new movie. What if it turns to be disappointing? The DVD will be put aside to collect dust forever, then. Even rental is not that cheap, especially if you tend to watch lots of movies and fail to return the DVDs on time. When you download full length DVD movies online, you basically get the same experience plus a few great advantages:

1. As mentioned before, it gives you an opportunity to save. Fee per download can range between $2 and $5 in most cases, but there are even cheaper options that are based on paid membership rather than price per downloaded movie.

2. When you are offered to download full length DVD movies, it means the quality will be the same as you see on a conventional DVD. Basically, it is the exact copy of the same movie issued on a DVD, without any cuts and/or changes. In other words, you do not lose anything by downloading a movie online and not buying in a store.

3. Professional and reputed sites will not only allow you to download a full length DVD movie, but also transfer it to a disk to play on a conventional video player. All the required software and conversion programs are provided for free.

4. Unlike the chaos of shady torrent websites, neatly organized files and easy search of legal movie distributing websites are definitely helpful. You can also be sure that no hidden virus or malware will pass to your system along with the downloaded file.

5. With the fast downloading speeds of advanced websites you no more have to wait hours to download a full length DVD movie. The entire process is many times easier and faster than going to the DVD shop, browsing through the selection, standing in a line to pay, etc.

With all the obvious advantages of the new alternative, it is only natural that it is becoming the first choice of so many people worldwide. Wait no longer - download full length DVD movies of your choice and enjoy the undisputed benefits!

Download Full Movies - How to Download Full Movies Online

So you're looking for a place to download full movies online? The trouble with watching full movies on the internet is that it's hard to find exactly what you're looking for. Either you can't find that latest movie, or when you do the quality is almost unwatchable and the movies been split up into twenty different sections!

So are there services online that allow you to download full movies, in full DVD quality, quickly and easily? Yes! There are a ton of sites out there that allow you to do this but as with everything online it's hard to find them and separate the scams from the legitimate services. But, follow a few simple rules and you will find a great service to download full movies from quickly and easily.

Firstly, you can download full movies from free 'torrent' sites. I do not recommend this. Torrent sites are unregulated and the movies you download more often than not contain viruses and spyware - these sites are the number one ways for hackers to corrupt your computer. For a very small one time fee you can join a paid site that has the latest clean, full, DVD quality movies ready to download at the click of a mouse. These sites give you membership for life when you join and have all the latest movies.

If you're going to pay to join a movie download site, you should get the most out of your money. Choose a site that has TV shows and music as well as the latest movies. I've seen download sites with more than 80 million files all ready for you to download instantly.

To make sure your not joining a scam service, choose a site that has a money back guarantee. My favorite site has an 8 week, no questions asked money back guarantee (not that I've had to use it) and a 24/7 customer support service in case you have any questions or problems you need sorting out.

Follow these simple rules and you will find a great service to download full movies from. To read a review of my favorite movie download service that I use on a regular basis click here

Download DVD Movies - A Quick Look at Vongo, Movielink and CinemaNow

Vongo, Movielink and CinemaNow are three great providers of downloadable DVD movies. To help you choose between them, here's a quick comparison:

Vongo is still in beta and has a very big memory leak but they have a lot of content for you to choose from if you are willing to do your own searching as it is not filtered very well. There is an editorial service that provides user ratings, graphics, trailers and filters. In order to use Vongo you will have to allow them to automatically install an update manager. This service only costs $10 per month and allows you to access hundreds of movies and pay per view options. This web site as it is definitely working to improve upon itself.

Movielink operates quite smoothly and offers superb video quality. You can rent the movie for 30 days but you will have to view it within 24 hours of downloading it via their satellite program. This manager is quite useful as it will automatically resume any broken downloads and remove any expired movies. Downloading this program is not a big deal as it will automatically figure out which area of your computer has the necessary 600-1000MB for this program. You can play your movie in either RealPlayer or Windows Media Player. The prices are not bad either, but there is no shopping cart available.

CinemaNow is the leading web site for downloading movies. They have more than 4,000 titles available for you to rent in such a way that is both quick and convenient. You will pay a lot less money for these movies too, as the cost is only between $1.99 and $3.99 per rental. There are also discounts available in the Showcase Section. Once you begin watching your movie you will have 48 hours to finish watching it on your PC, laptop or television. This is because they have a download-to-burn service, which allows you to burn the movies you download and watch them on your television's DVD player.

These downloads are Microsoft compatible, but they do work best with Media Play. There are also High Definition (HD) downloads available as well. Unfortunately, none of these web sites support Macintosh or any browser other than Internet Explorer. You will also find that the customer reviews will help you decide what movie you would enjoy watching. There are also a lot of great controls present on the account manager, including a parental control. You can also use this manager to help you see what you have just browsed, or to help you search for something to watch according to title, actor, director or keyword, genre, format and device.

Would you rather enjoy your own DVD collection on your computer, iPod, PSP or Zune? If so, download the movavi videosuite to your PC today. With it, you can easily convert all of your videos and DVDs to play on your computer or portable device.

You can convert dvd to avi, avi to dvd, mpeg to dvd, dvd to mpeg, dvd to mp4 and just about any other conversion format you need!
